Kolibri Drone-Mounted Laser Tag Target
NEW PRODUCT: KOLIBRI DRONE-MOUNTED LASER TAG TARGET
LASERWAR introduces Kolibri, a compact drone-mounted laser tag target designed for training with moving aerial targets.
Mounted on a compatible quadcopter, Kolibri allows participants to detect, track, and engage a target whose direction, speed, and altitude are controlled by a dedicated drone operator. This makes each session unpredictable and allows instructors to adjust the difficulty to the participants' skills and training objectives.
Aerial target training
Kolibri adds an aerial element to laser tag exercises at training centers, training grounds, and outdoor venues. It can be used to practice:
- Detecting and tracking a moving aerial target
- Engaging targets at different distances
- Responding to changes in speed and altitude
- Completing scenarios with simulated return fire
The target is equipped with two hit sensors and an RGB status LED positioned near the camera, allowing the drone operator to monitor its status during flight. Three additional LEDs on the underside indicate the team color, configuration mode, receipt of setup commands, and other device statuses. A built-in sound module provides additional feedback.
Range and simulated return fire
Kolibri can register laser tag shots at distances of 110 to 200 m. The actual range depends on the optical system, weather, visibility, engagement angle, and laser tag equipment configuration.
The device can also simulate return fire at players within a range of up to 20 m. This function requires compatible flight-controller configuration; setup instructions are available upon request.
Lightweight design and mounting options
Kolibri weighs only 30 g, minimizing the additional load on the drone. Depending on the mounting and power-supply configuration, the quadcopter should be able to carry an additional payload of approximately 30-40 g.
Available mounting options include:
- Standard three-point screw mounting
- Velcro strap mounting, available upon request
- A custom mount for a specific drone, available upon request
A custom solution may be necessary for drones with unusual frame designs or limited mounting points.
Power supply, statistics, and updates
Kolibri does not have a built-in battery. It can be powered by:
- A 2S drone battery
- The flight controller's 5 V output
- An adapter connected to the battery's balance connector
The appropriate option depends on the drone, battery, and flight controller. Connection instructions are available upon request.
Game statistics can be exported through the USB Type-C port, which is also used for firmware updates. This port does not power the device, so Kolibri must remain connected to an external power source during data export and updates.
Drone compatibility
Kolibri can be installed on compact quadcopters with a frame size of 85 mm or larger, provided they have sufficient payload capacity and suitable mounting and power connections. Potentially compatible models include the Mobula8, Air75, and other drones with similar specifications.
Compatibility must be confirmed before ordering. The additional payload may affect the drone's balance, stability, flight time, maneuverability, and overall handling.
Kolibri can be used indoors and outdoors. Its stated operating temperature range is -40 to +35 °C. The device should be stored in a dry place when not in use.
Package contents
The standard package includes:
- One Kolibri Drone-Mounted Laser Tag Target
- Fasteners for standard installation
The quadcopter and other laser tag equipment are not included.
What we need before you order
To confirm compatibility and prepare the correct configuration, provide your LASERWAR manager with the exact drone model.
If simulated return fire is required, also specify the flight-controller type and model. For a custom mounting or power-supply solution, provide details about the drone frame, battery, flight controller, and available connection points.
Kolibri is now available to order. Contact the LASERWAR team to confirm compatibility and select the right mounting and power-supply configuration for your drone.
