Choosing Perfect Laser Tag Arena
With the purchase of laser tag equipment, the next question arises: where to play? In this article, you will find several useful tips for choosing an arena for your games.
First of all, don't be afraid of the word "polygon". Although it is a military term, in our case it has nothing to do with the army or real combat. A polygon for laser tag games can be absolutely any area – be it an open field or a forest. When choosing a site, base your decision on how many people will be playing. It's clear that for 8-10 people you don't need endless hectares of land – a small, modest patch of forest will do.
You'll agree, it would be nice to include some buildings and structures in the location so you can shoot from cover. Of course, these buildings should at least not be in the city center and should be uninhabited. It's full of places that are just waiting to become an arena for your laser tag games. The main thing is to be observant. Driving through the country, or just in the vicinity of your city (regoin), look around – abandoned buildings and wastelands won't keep you waiting.
If you rarely travel or simply don't want to engage in such searches, it's worth asking knowledgeable people. They will surely suggest some excellent game locations. However, as the saying goes, trust but verify. It would be a good idea to go to the location yourself, or better yet with your team, to assess its suitability for laser tag games. The "Watch" players might have found the location interesting (especially at night when objects take on completely different shapes), but it might not be suitable for laser tag. Although, it also depends on what kind of arena you want.
If you are more interested in an urban style, you need to look for a small area with buildings close together. In this case, player reaction speed will be the determining factor. Such locations are also good for snipers – there are opportunities to hide.
There is another option: a wasteland with a minimum number of buildings scattered over large distances. Here, everything is decided by endurance and attentiveness – it can be quite difficult to determine where the shooting is coming from. Such arenas are great for playing laser tag scenarios like capturing a building or a fight to the death. A feature of large arenas is that not the entire territory may be used in scenarios, but only certain parts of it. This adds variety. You play in one place, but the interest in the location doesn't fade – you constantly discover some new spots.
The most interesting type of laser tag arena is abandoned military bases. Large territories, an abundance of buildings, and an urban landscape allow you to fully enjoy the game and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of real combat. Here you can play out a wide variety of scenarios – it all depends only on your imagination!
Very important! Never play on dangerous sites. Thrills are thrills, but your life and health come first. Avoid abandoned industrial plants that produced chemical or other substances harmful to health. Do not play in buildings that are ready to collapse at any moment. An abandoned building is not the same as a dilapidated one! If possible, before the game, clear away trash and objects that could injure you (e.g., metal rods). Dress appropriately for the game. Don't play laser tag in flip-flops and t-shirts!
Remember, your safety is in your hands!
